This recipe is one to of those creations that didn’t require a store visit. I looked at supplies on hand and decided to create a new, healthy dip recipe. The true inspiration to this recipe are these pizza pita chips we bought at Costco last weekend. I was determined to figure out a dip that I could serve with the chips.

This dip is very easy and you shouldn’t need to make a trip to store. These are staple ingredients that you should have in pantry/refrigerator at all times. Whip this up fast for any party.

Just mix the cream cheese, seasonings, shredded cheese, sauce and toppings you would normally put on your favorite pizza. You can get very creative here and fold in your favorite pizza toppings. i.e. sausage, pepperoni, peppers, olives, mushrooms. Spoon the mixture into a small casserole dish. I decided to use 3 small oven-safe ramekins. I just love the mini pepperoni on top. They are just adorable and this dish was my excuse to try them out!

After 25 minutes in the oven, the dip will be bubbling and look mouth watering. Remember you could prep this dip before your party and put it in the oven when your guests arrive. They won’t even be able to tell it’s a low fat dip. For an even healthier choice, you can serve the dip with celery or peppers.

Pizza, Pizza Dip


  • 8 oz low fat cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning (I use Penzey's)
  • 2 cups shredded low moisture mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cups reduced fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup chopped turkey pepperoni or cooked italian turkey sausage
  • Mini pepperoni slices for topping
  • Garnish toppings:
  • 3 tablespoon fresh parmesan cheese
  • Fresh Thyme


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Using a hand mixer, mix cream cheese, oregano, garlic powder, pizza seasoning, cheddar cheese, ¾ cup mozzarella cheese and marinara/pizza sauce until smooth and creamy.

Fold in the turkey pepperoni or turkey sausage.

Spread into a small casserole dish. Top cream cheese mixture with remaining mozzarella cheese and mini pepperoni slices.

Bake 25 minutes or until cheese is browned. Garnish with thyme and fresh parmesan cheese.

Serve with pita chips or a sliced baguette. For an even healthier choice, serve with peppers and celery.
